Your voice matters now more than ever. Whether it’s showing up at rallies, organizing locally, or spreading the message online, every action counts. Join us in standing up for democracy—because silence is not an option.
Dead Heads for Democracy brings Dead Heads together to volunteer, organize and show up for our elections. We share events, connect neighbors and help music fans take part in their communities. We are here to promote your events too. Have an event to share? Submit it here. We are a fan gathering, not a campaign, and everyone is welcome.

This site was created in conjunction with this event which took place on August 13th, 2024. It was a jam-packed 2-hour virtual gathering with special guests, music and spirited conversations around the issues identified by the organizers.
Among the well-known names to appear during the program were Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, comedians Marc Maron and Al Franken, and cosmic clown/peace activist Wavy Gravy.
There were also many politicians, activists, and social workers who spoke up for Kamala, as well as members of the extended Grateful Dead family including photographers Jay Blakesberg, Rosie McGee, and Susana Millman, Carolyn Garcia (Mountain Girl), who was married to Jerry Garcia, audio engineer and producer Betty Cantor Jackson, Owsley Stanley‘s wife Rhoney Stanley, Bill Walton‘s wife Lori Walton, and more. The program was divided into a number of different segments including
The Arts, Humanity & Immigration, Violence Prevention, Healthcare, Education/Next Generation, Our Environment, Global Relations, Women’s Rights, Unity & Equality, and Get Involved.
After the November election, we decided to change our name from Dead Heads for Kamala to Dead Heads for Democracy.
